- What a ticket costs
- One entry costs R2. If you pick more than one result in a match, each extra combination costs another R2.
- How the pool is split
- Tickets with all 10 right share 80 per cent of the pool. Tickets with any 9 right share the other 20 per cent. If nobody gets all 10, that 80 per cent carries over to the same share of a later Soccer 10 pool.
- If a match is not played
- Every match must finish by 9am on the day after the last day the pool was scheduled for. A match that does not finish by then counts as abandoned. Every pick on that match then qualifies, whichever result you chose.
- The largest payout the operator claims
- TAB says the record Soccer 10 payout is R2,106,857. That is their figure, on their own page. We have not checked it ourselves.

Do you have to get every Soccer 10 result right to win?
No. Across 133 settled pools on file, Soccer 10 paid at 9/10 and 10/10 correct. The amount at each level changes every pool. It depends on the size of the pot and on how many tickets got to that level.
Is a pool bet the same as a bet at a bookmaker?
No, and the difference matters. In a pool bet every stake goes into one pot, and the pot is shared between the winning tickets. So nobody knows what a ticket pays until the pool closes and the matches finish. A bookmaker prices each match on its own and shows you that price before you stake. A cheap pool ticket needs a lot of results to go your way. A single match bet at a known price is a different product with a different risk.
