How the pool works, in short
SportStake 13 is a totalisator pool. That means one shared pot, not a fixed price like a bookmaker gives you. Everyone who enters picks a result for each match on the card. Every stake goes into that pot, and the pot is shared between the tickets with the most results right. Nobody knows what a winning ticket pays until the pool closes and the matches finish. The payout depends on the size of the pot and on how many other people picked the same way.
Each match takes one of three picks: a home win, a draw or an away win. Settled pools pay at 10/13, 11/13, 12/13 and 13/13 correct, so a ticket does not have to be perfect to win. This is a game of chance. Most tickets in every pool win nothing.

How many matches are on a SportStake 13 card?
Thirteen. You pick the result of every one of them. The card is fixed once the pool opens, so nobody can add or swap a match after you enter.
What do 1, 2, 4 and 7 mean on a SportStake 13 card?
On the winning combinations the operator publishes after every pool, 4 is a home win, 2 is a draw and 1 is an away win. SoccerBetting SA checked that instead of assuming it. We lined up every symbol against the published score of the match in that spot, across 27 settled SportStake 13 pools. That is 341 comparisons. All 341 agreed. This page republishes the match list, kick-off times, pool codes, pool times and pot sizes. They come from the public pool feed used by www.nationallottery.co.za , the official SportStake 13 site. SportStake 13 is now called MatchPlay 13. Sizekhaya Holdings took over the South African National Lottery from Ithuba on 1 June 2026 and renamed the soccer pools. The product is the same one, and only the name on the operator’s own site has changed. TAB does not run it, so it has its own card, its own close times and its own results. Last checked Thursday 17 September 2026 at 08:12. A fixture can change or be postponed after it is published, so check the card with the operator before you enter a pool.
